Monthly Meetings – Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month (Unless the first Thurs is a holiday, in which case the meeting is held on the second Thurs), February through November at Humboldt Grange #501, 5845 Humboldt Hill Road in Eureka. Hospitality begins at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visit the Events Calendar for upcoming meeting dates.
Lectures and Workshops – Each year the guild sponsors lectures and workshops presented by nationally known quilters and by Guild members. Other sewing events are scheduled throughout the year.
Quilter’s Retreat and Sew Days – Each year, the Guild holds a 2 day Quilter’s Retreat, as well as various sew days throughout the year. Visit the Events Calendar for more information.
Quilt Show – the Guild sponsors the “Heart of the Redwoods” quilt show in July in odd-numbered years. Over 200 quilts and quilt-related items are displayed.
Opportunity Quilt – the Opportunity Quilt is a collaborative effort that produces a memorable, much sought after quilt. Raffle tickets are sold and the winner’s name is drawn at the Heart of the Redwoods quilt show and in July in alternate years.
Community Quilts – Each year hundreds of quilts are donated to Humboldt County individuals and families through many local charitable organizations.
In addition to these projects, guild members make many quilts for both local and world-wide charitable organizations.
